Health & Wellbeing

Workplace wellbeing becomes a total package with The Alexander Technique because it addresses both the psychological and physiological aspects of wellbeing. The Alexander Technique provides staff with Health & Wellbeing techniques for improved self-management in the workplace.

How does The Alexander Technique work as a Health & Wellbeing Tool?

The simple formula of The Alexander Technique is “use effects function” i.e. the way we use our bodies determines the quality of outcome – “function.” The technique is a subtle process of re-education. It develops an awareness of unconscious patterns and teaches participants how to “undo” movements and habits that are harmful and inefficient.

What course participants have said

“The Alexander Technique has provided enormous benefit in my professional life and workplace by giving me an awareness and knowledge of how I physically react and cope with stress and stressful situations.”
“It’s about the body and the physical things that happen. I enjoy the mental and visual process of allowing the breathing, lengthening and widening, which happens in semi-supine, to free my body.”
“It’s interesting to notice how I put incorrect emphasis on my body parts e.g. arching my back. I enjoy the relief which occurs in my body as I change my thinking.”
